New series: Gyaru Staple Series (G.S.S.)

Gyaru staples--sounds strange, doesn't it? For generations old and new, we have often filed that topic under "stupid questions".Why do you ask? It is because of the answer. We, as new gen, are told by old that we must observe and study the magazines for a year. That way, we can learn how the trends change and with that pick out what staples we want for our own wardrobe.

But what about the ones who don't understand? Well, these people will fall under two categories: those who try, but fail to some degree and then are mocked on G_S. The other category however, with the laziness increased by the brashness of the answer, travel to G_S to become one of the anons that mock those who do try.

Maybe this can be prevented, ne? What if we could give these inquiring gals the information they seek? Maybe we can prevent that gal from becoming that failure or becoming that anon?

With this in mind, I would like to welcome you to the Gyaru Staple Series.

And within this Gyaru staple Series (G.S.S.) I will partner up with Gigi Asare and introduce to you what we have observed as the gyaru basic wardrobe. Each item we have chosen can be used in each sub-style to it's own degree. And then we will take turns making outfits with these basics pieces (with added trend and sub-style specific items) to help you understand how to coordinate your clothes together in what will be a GGA worthy look.

I look forward to your questions and comments.

I think I'm getting better! this is eyemake only, no base make. I've finally got to line the inner corner successfully.

What do you all think?

It was a good show... did you stop by?

I know it looks a little weird. But I decided to try something different with my makeup tonight.

I'm really please because I know I improved from this morning. And, I've finally got a use for these spiky ES lashes I've been holding onto. Now I just need to get the liner part on the lower lid down and I think i'll be set for eye makeup. After this I will be focusing more on clothing.

A lil bit more about my day under the cut.

I was going for the Ageha eye look. My lashes are never dark enough so I decided to see what it would be like if my doubled up top lash would look okay on the bottom.

Here's what I have learned from this trial
  1. The eyelash on the bottom needs to be doubled up and shorter from now on.
  2. Don't put a golden coral on top of a blue. It looks like skin on me.
  3. I need some kind of bangs for my hair lol
  4. I put my top lash up higher at the end. I like how the swoosh effect is done.
  5. And finally, I need to stick with my color choices because I'm very happy with my foundation now.

What you think of my trail and error? I would love some advice.

Hime Gyaru Link list

There’s a lot of information everywhere about Hime Gyaru. Some outdated, some so excellent I’m surprised no one knows. So for my use (and of course yours) i’m going to link them all on this post so that I don’t have to scour my massive list of book marks. note: Some of these aren’t official guides, but they provide important information none the less.

(Yep, I brought it back! Hopefully As time goes on I can update and add more to the list.)

Why are we dividing ourselves?

The gal community is already divided between the Japanese gyaru and gaijin gyaru. Then, the gaijin aka western gyaru are divided from who's Asian and who not, and then, there are divisions between who's black and who's not.

Now, we have a debate on whether gals can be religious?

Are we being serious here? We have already solved this issue two years ago.

According to universal doll :

So Why are we talking about Muslims now?

I swear, Lady Li reveals something personal and people, who will remain anonymous, decide that they need to express their religious point of views.

In case this isn't any more ridiculous, let's not forget that There's the epic debate on what is considered the gal lifestyle: now I understand that some of you think its just a fashion, and there's some of you who think its a lifestyle. You're both right. This is common sense.

If you want to debate about showing skin and having done up hair, don't forget that some of these gyaru do work outside of the 109 stores. Sometimes they can't have nails or big hair. Sometimes they work in an office. But hey! We have more substyle choices now. We can switch it up into an onee style for work and agejo when hanging out. We are not limited to the ganguro that came before us. according again to miss mitsu: Many take compromises. There may be a 'whole package' but its definitely not meant for the daily, unless you want it to be.

And now you want to say, what about get wild and be sexy? Well? Why don't I remind you of a another answer from universal doll.

you see? ,even in japan gals still lead pretty "normal" lives whilst looking different from most people. So to sum it up there is no reason to divide ourselves.

We need to stop trying to focus on things that really dont matter and focus on things that do. Gal is something that is meant to unify us not tear us apart. Debating over whats gal and what isn't is a complete waste of time.As you can see gals in Japan live their lives the best way that they see fit. I think we should do the same.
