Hime Gyaru Link list [update 2013]

There’s a lot of information everywhere about Hime Gyaru. Some outdated, some so excellent I’m surprised no one knows. So for my use (and of course yours) i’m going to link them all on this post so that I don’t have to scour my massive list of book marks. note: Some of these aren’t official guides, but they provide important information none the less.

(Yep, I brought it back! Hopefully As time goes on I can update and add more to the list.)

Why are we dividing ourselves?

The gal community is already divided between the Japanese gyaru and gaijin gyaru. Then, the gaijin aka western gyaru are divided from who's Asian and who not, and then, there are divisions between who's black and who's not.

Now, we have a debate on whether gals can be religious?

Are we being serious here? We have already solved this issue two years ago.

According to universal doll :

So Why are we talking about Muslims now?

I swear, Lady Li reveals something personal and people, who will remain anonymous, decide that they need to express their religious point of views.

In case this isn't any more ridiculous, let's not forget that There's the epic debate on what is considered the gal lifestyle: now I understand that some of you think its just a fashion, and there's some of you who think its a lifestyle. You're both right. This is common sense.

If you want to debate about showing skin and having done up hair, don't forget that some of these gyaru do work outside of the 109 stores. Sometimes they can't have nails or big hair. Sometimes they work in an office. But hey! We have more substyle choices now. We can switch it up into an onee style for work and agejo when hanging out. We are not limited to the ganguro that came before us. according again to miss mitsu: Many take compromises. There may be a 'whole package' but its definitely not meant for the daily, unless you want it to be.

And now you want to say, what about get wild and be sexy? Well? Why don't I remind you of a another answer from universal doll.

you see? ,even in japan gals still lead pretty "normal" lives whilst looking different from most people. So to sum it up there is no reason to divide ourselves.

We need to stop trying to focus on things that really dont matter and focus on things that do. Gal is something that is meant to unify us not tear us apart. Debating over whats gal and what isn't is a complete waste of time.As you can see gals in Japan live their lives the best way that they see fit. I think we should do the same.

New Gyaru Makeup Tutorial!

Remember a while ago when I asked Tamang "Promise" Phan to do a Gyaru tutorial?

Well, she did it!!! I'm so happy with the result. By her doing this tutorial, it acknowledges Gyaru makeup and hair here state-side. I know some of you don't want our community to spread, but I'm pretty sure you don't want to be the only one in your area dressed gyaru either.

The Lovely Memi

I want to credit Memi La for reblogging this old video. I'm really ignorant to digital cameras but seeing this video today has me thinking: I need a new camera.

We should all be ashamed of ourselves

It's about 10:00pm PST. I'm spending my evening as usual, talking with Gigi and laughing it up. Then I was checking out Lady Li's blog. I can tell you I wasn't happy with what I found:

Or at least, of me hosting it.
I can take a lot, as you all know I’m constantly bombarded with hate but I just can’t take any more of this.
I created the awards to make people happy and encourage people to become more friendly towards each other. However, all it seems to be doing is causing even more negativity and bitchiness.
Also, I’m not a production crew, nor do I have any help at all. I’m one person with no training whatsoever. People are expecting too much from me. None of you know what goes on in my personal life, or what I have to deal with each day. The awards depend on other Gaijin Gyaru, but unfortunately, many aren’t actually reliable and back out last minute - leaving me to recover for them or take their blame. So, I’m now a few presenters short of a cast - just like last year. I made sure to ask well in advance this year, thinking that was the reason why last years backed out.
I’m not a rich person, in fact I’m very poor. This costs me money to make, and I make nothing from it, as I can’t put adverts on these videos. It also takes up a lot of my time, I actually put my heart into these awards, and I’m sure you would all be shocked if you actually knew how much time was put into them.
Also, too many people are getting upset about not been nominated, instead of been happy for the ones that were.
People seem to think that I’m the one who decides who is nominated, demanding to know why/why not someone was/wasn’t nominated. I’ve already said so many times that it’s the voters who decide. I have no say in that area of the awards.
It’s a shame, because I really hoped this would turn into something the entire community could enjoy and take part in. It wasn’t meant to be taken seriously, but to simply to be enjoyed.
Anyone else can continue this in the future, but I’ve had enough.

This is coming from Lhouraii! You know what that means? NO MORE GGA next year!

Somehow, the few of you haters out there, whoo couldn't stand the fact that you weren't chosen over the current nominees of the GGA that you had to run her ragged to the point where we are going to be dealing with second rate production and other useless crap.

We have honestly failed as a community when G_S has taken precedence over gal forums and blogs.

So what did I do? I put on my makeup, prepped my camera, and spoke my two cents about the whole thing:

Not bad for filming at 1:30am!

And you know what? I'm not the only one upset!

Here's a video by AgeNoir's own Gigi Asare that talks about confidence. It's design just for gyaru, but we all need to watch this and have it bookmarked for whenever we are feeling down:

Dani over at Alternative kei has written a mind blowing post to get you all thinking, What does Gyaru mean to you?

Update: Lolo has responded to mine and Dani's post here. And Bree gives her point of view as an outsider looking in. She has a sequel to it as well. I pray that we can change in time.

Another Update: Tomo has put in her two sense. And trust me when I say its priceless. Check it out here.

Hello! Today was a nice day. I had decided to start shopping for my clothes online (after Gigi introduced me properly to the wondrous world of Ebay and amazon). Included in this post is a lot of information, and a great surprise! Please click below to see what's going on with me.

Hello!

Today is a happy day indeed! Not only am myself and blog nominated in two categories, but Daniela has posted an article that I requested for today!!!

What many of you don't realize is that blogging is my passion. And I'm good at it. If you want your blog readership to go sky high, I can look over your blog and tell you exactly what you can do to reach all those gals out there. Hell, it doesn't even have to be a gal blog, for me to help you succeed.

That's where Daniela comes into this; I'm her blogging mentor. I provide guidance by giving reasources and blog topics for her to work on. I'm not telling her how to run her blog, just what she can do to attract her target audience. Sometimes I see something that would make a great article, but I don't always keep it to myself. I think about who would benefit best from whatever the topic is, and my latest idea has been finished.

You can check her post out here! tell her Chaudie sent you!

GGA 2012: I was nominated!!!

Hello everyone,

With a heavy heart and tearful eye that show you the latest LiGyaru video of the 2012 Gaijin Gal awards, nomination video.

It's a new car!!!!

Hello everyone!

I got a new car yesterday! It's a 2006 ford Taurus in a pretty silver:

Obviously not my car, here's the source
This means a lot of great things for me!

  • shopping at my favorite malls
  • Going to SF for meets
  • and visiting gals up and down I-5
So all my Cali Gyaru, when are you available in april or may?

Secrets here

So now it's time to hear my side of the story. I'm sure that if you know of G_S, you recognize the picture above and lately there were a few secrets about me. And you should also know that I exercised my right to have them taken down. So, after giving it some thought, I've decided i should address the issue...

5 articles that will help you understand Gyaru

Being English born Gyaru, most of us don't read every single blog that relates in anyway to gyaru. Well, in my small career as one I want to share these posts that will blow your mind with clarity for the gyaru look. Please enjoy:

Warning: It's Painful...really

Today was a very painful day.

It started out with planning some damage control due to a G_S flare up. Nothing too big. It just resulted in me adding more to my monologue for the AgeNoir premier. Which reminds me, I should be looking for some one that can help with the chat box. Hmm... oh well, I'll think about it after the premier. Oh and if you're wondering about the G_S screen cap thing, wait until the show and I will tell you not only my 'side of the story' but also what this may have stemmed from.

I was able to talk with Gigi today. Now most of you may not know, Gigi and I communicate more through SMS and phone calls than the internet. It's really nice too. It feel like she's in the next apartment over instead of all the way in the Carolina's. I was mentioning to her about how I didn't understand the full impact that I have on the community we call Gal. She explained to me what she thought and it surprised me. It comforted me. I know that a lot of you who become more famous and deal with G_S may not be able to agree with me. But after I fully understood it from a non-me point of view... It's safe to say I'm quite pleased.

Now, at the tail end of the phone call I had to end it because my husband came home with my new exercise bike!!! It's not built yet, but when it is I'm going to try and camwhore with it. lol it's going to look like a fail Weight watcher's ad campagin.

not my teeth, or hand... you get the picture

Also, my wisdom teeth flared up so now the right side of my jaw is infected. I walked to the dentist (it's a 5 minute walk, yay me!) and set everything up to get a root canal and eventually my wisdom teeth removed. But unfortunately, to get to this point in progress I've murdered my Android phone. lol I was so frustrated that a urgent care clinic receptionist couldn't understand me (and therefore hung up on me) I threw my phone at the wall. Not only is there a dent, but the screen is fucked. The phone works fine, but without the screen (the TOUCH screen) there's no point in keeping the phone. So I'll be getting a new phone next week when the tax money comes. Good thing we budgeted a cushion in case of stuff like this.

Obviously from engadget
I want to get the new Samsung Galaxy Attain. It has a front and rear camera. Finally decent selcas without needing my mirror to view the preview. I'm really fond of Android now in conjunction with my iTouch. I just wish I could get my fave purikura app on my cell phone.

Anywho, that's pretty much it for today. How was your day?
