Growing pains with Novocaine

Make Up From Last Thursday's show

So I've finally made an appointment to have my wisdom teeth removed. Why do I feel like Fox from harry potter, about to have one of his burning days?

Pic Spam: Kuronba ideas

I'm seriously considering adding a bit of 96bo Gal to the melting pot that is my gal style. I still don't know what the final result is, but take a look at what I'm considering.

Long Update: of eyes, webs, and clowns *PicHeavy*

Hello all, I was practicing makeup last night while I was talking to Gigi and watching my husband get ready for work. It's funny the conversations the three of us (Gigi was on speaker phone) end up in.

Yes I know it's also my bio pic
Although Eri may not believe it, but when we hung out I learned so much from her. Well... it was more like everything I thought about the gal community, along with my present goals to strengthen it, was reaffirmed with what she said. Heck even the Hime/Agejo debate I was in with Kiara a long time ago, in my opinion was settled after I told Eri my opinion of it. IT was so nice to know I was right in the debate. And the only reason why i say this is because Eri was the first gyaru i had ever met, and she was (and still is) a Hime Gyaru. Too bad she's moving away from Agejo back into full hime. But I can't wait to see what she buys after her break.

Here's the makeup I wore for the show. Yes look at those glorious fucking eyebrows!!! I spent most of the shaving, trimming, penciling, and all that jazz to get them to look like this. It was a definite bitch but I love them.
Indoor/right before the show

Also, can you believe I'm sporting a total of 6 full pairs of lashes? I didn't think it was possible, but there it is above.

But anyhow, that's not why you're here. Nope, you want to see the interview clips from last night.

This week on AgeNoir: Beauty

Hello all, here's the discussion notes on what we are going to talk about this Thursday on AgeNoir.

This post is simply a guide of the links, videos, and photos we are going to be discussing.

This Week's Theme: Beauty

3 ways to add a little luxury to your life

Luxury: free or habitual indulgence in or enjoyment of comforts and pleasures in addition to those necessary for a reasonable standard of well-being.

I don't care what you do for a living (hence the photo above), your racial/ethnic background, your political views, etc. I'm just here to help you feel a little more regal about yourself and your surroundings.

G.S.S.: Gal Mama

Hello and welcome back to the Gyaru Staple Series. Last week you saw on Gigi's blog the Onee and Mode Gyaru interpreted in a Day, Evening, and Weekend look. Now it's my turn. And I'm here to bring you the Gal Mama Coordinate Set.

Gal Mamas, by definition are the kogals grown up and with children. They could be wives, they could not. But what makes them the same is not giving up looking glamorous. They hang out with other Gal mamas on their monthly shopping trip. Sometimes their shopping budget is greatly reduced, but that doesn't stop them from staying fashionable. These three looks will reflect my lifestyle and what I would wear it I had a flatter belly and thinner thighs.

And  if you noticed last night, my grandmother had called in the middle of the last half hour of the show. Coco had a bad insect bite and I took her to an ugent appointment to check it out. I told Mima that Coco was okay so she got off the phone (don't worry this get better)...

Did you missed the show?

彡☆Items to boost your Gaijin Gyaru Status☆彡

Think about empire the olsen twins had...

This is the intro in which I’m supposed to provide the proper explanation of what status means in the gal community, and why you want it. But, if you're getting ready to take notes, I can only assume you know the importance of the following items.

As gyaru, especially gaijin, we identify each other by our looks. If someone looks similar to us we survey their hair, makeup, and clothing. Some of us are looking for a certain style to the clothing, others are looking for brand. Unfortunately, you may not be taken seriously, in this community, if you do not at least try to work towards a couple of these simple, yet complicated goals. so why don’t we start with the basics?

A bit of a warning for click continue - this list is from my observation of the following:

  • countless blog posts,
  • blog designs,
  • gal magazines,
  • comments on a blog,
  • constant reblogs on tumblr,
  • wishlists in sidebars of blogs,
  • Facebook photos and cover pictures,
  • and the list goes on...

Please enjoy...

Beauty... It's a cult

OMG! No makeup pic

Yep you heard me a cult.  But I won't get into it. That's a  post for another day.

Now there's three rituals you should already be performing: skin care, spa care, and make.

Damn those photoshoped bitches we see in the magazines and online.

Trust me, you can achieve that same look with make up but it's best to get as close to a perfect canvas as possible.

My friend Eri, she always tells me that I need a full skin care system.  I'm currently using the clinique 3 step system in the first formula. I have normal/dry skin so it works fir me.

  1. Anyways, you need a cleanser. You cant miss this one. How else are you going to take that 3-5 layers of makeup off of your face?
  2. Next is the toner. I'm not sure if it works for everyone. I use it to balance out my facial skin tone and as a refresher in the morning when I dont cleanse my face.
  3. Moisturizer is the second thing you shouldn't go with out. It replaces to good moisture that hour cleanser takes away.

Next, we have our spa rituals. Long ago the notion that you have to go to a fancy place and pay out your ass for a Service that needs to be repeated biweekly to monthly.

With this ritual you too can have a somewhat spa experience at home:
  1.  Mask: this varies because of your skin type tone and what your needs are. Honestly I like wearing the mask around the house while I'm cleaning or doing my nails.
  2. Exfoliation: sometimes this confuses me. I can't really get a clean face without exfoliating. For those with thinner skin I can understand why a daily hardcore scrub can be a bit much. To that I say at least twice a week is okay. But if you are active and sweat a lot more than you care to admit, or have oily skin, daily is a must. (feel free to correct me if i'm wrong)
The last is actuly very simple just do your normal makeup routine. Don't have one? Watch these videos or make up gurus interpreting the gyaru look.

All night thuggin' - a video short by Coco

This is my daughter Coco. I can't believe she's a year old now!

Introducing Emora, an adorable mulism Gyaru

Emora is a NY Gyaru who've I chatted with off and on Via Pupe Doll. I've asked her here and there about her limitations of the style (since she lives at home with her parents, along with religious preference) and its pretty reasonable. She's also a great artist I love her concepts for Gyaru coordinates

I ask you to check her out and follow her blog; because her different outlook of clothing choices can help you in the long run for

G.S.S.: Introducing the staples

laying down on the job again

Oh my my! It seems that when I scheduled the intro post for the G.S.S., I simply forgot about introducing the staples!

So on to my handy dandy...  fashion notebook!
It may not be used on the regular. But my fashion notes never let me down. Below you are going to see the basic staples that (from my research) frequent every gyaru's closet. Don't let the neutral tones fool you, you can purchase these items in any color or style that you want.

Also, you will notice some items are missing; this is because they are sub style standards (i.e. the empire waist dresses that are infamous with Agejo). This list is the middle ground for all styles.

New series: Gyaru Staple Series (G.S.S.)

Gyaru staples--sounds strange, doesn't it? For generations old and new, we have often filed that topic under "stupid questions".Why do you ask? It is because of the answer. We, as new gen, are told by old that we must observe and study the magazines for a year. That way, we can learn how the trends change and with that pick out what staples we want for our own wardrobe.

But what about the ones who don't understand? Well, these people will fall under two categories: those who try, but fail to some degree and then are mocked on G_S. The other category however, with the laziness increased by the brashness of the answer, travel to G_S to become one of the anons that mock those who do try.

Maybe this can be prevented, ne? What if we could give these inquiring gals the information they seek? Maybe we can prevent that gal from becoming that failure or becoming that anon?

With this in mind, I would like to welcome you to the Gyaru Staple Series.

And within this Gyaru staple Series (G.S.S.) I will partner up with Gigi Asare and introduce to you what we have observed as the gyaru basic wardrobe. Each item we have chosen can be used in each sub-style to it's own degree. And then we will take turns making outfits with these basics pieces (with added trend and sub-style specific items) to help you understand how to coordinate your clothes together in what will be a GGA worthy look.

I look forward to your questions and comments.

What do you all think?

It was a good show... did you stop by?

I know it looks a little weird. But I decided to try something different with my makeup tonight.

I'm really please because I know I improved from this morning. And, I've finally got a use for these spiky ES lashes I've been holding onto. Now I just need to get the liner part on the lower lid down and I think i'll be set for eye makeup. After this I will be focusing more on clothing.

A lil bit more about my day under the cut.

Makeup Test 3-1-2012

I was going for the Ageha eye look. My lashes are never dark enough so I decided to see what it would be like if my doubled up top lash would look okay on the bottom.

Here's what I have learned from this trial
  1. The eyelash on the bottom needs to be doubled up and shorter from now on.
  2. Don't put a golden coral on top of a blue. It looks like skin on me.
  3. I need some kind of bangs for my hair lol
  4. I put my top lash up higher at the end. I like how the swoosh effect is done.
  5. And finally, I need to stick with my color choices because I'm very happy with my foundation now.

What you think of my trail and error? I would love some advice.
